Basic Training Use and Treatment of Process Water
Goal
Develop the basic competences needed for the follow-up of processes for the purification of different types of water to the required process water quality.
Program
- Chemical and biological parameters to describe water quality (pH, hardness, salts, TOC, oxygen, viruses, biological stability, etc.);
- Basic characteristics of different water types: ground water (deep, shallow, aerobic, anaerobic), surface water, river bank filtrate, rainwater, waste water effluent and industrial and municipal wastewater;
- Typical treatment techniques for different water parameters;
- Typical purification schemes for the different water sources as a function of the required end quality;
- Applications of process water: production of deminwater and ultra pure water, cooling water treatment,... and associated risks (corrosion, scaling, biofouling, ...).
Target group
- Operators, process managers, laboratory workers, involved in the follow-up of water purification systems and reuse installations;
- Operators, process managers, laboratory workers, involved in the follow-up of the applications of process water;
- Environmental employees who need a good overview of the technical possibilities and bottlenecks of drink- and process water preparation.
